{"id":18777,"date":"2013-09-23T22:41:54","date_gmt":"2013-09-24T02:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2014.ottawa.wordcamp.org\/?page_id=18777"},"modified":"2014-04-24T12:46:41","modified_gmt":"2014-04-24T16:46:41","slug":"sessions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ottawa.wordcamp.org\/2014\/sessions\/","title":{"rendered":"Sessions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WordCamp Ottawa 2014 will feature <a href=\"https:\/\/2014.ottawa.wordcamp.org\/sessions-tracks-and-schedule-explained\/\">sessions<\/a> chosen for those new to WordPress, those who have WordPress skills, and professional designers and developers.<\/p>\n<p>As an attendee, you can sit in on any session in any of the <a href=\"https:\/\/2014.ottawa.wordcamp.org\/sessions-tracks-and-schedule-explained\/\">tracks<\/a>. You can switch tracks if you like. There are no restrictions on the tracks or sessions you attend.<\/p>\n<p>To help you decide which sessions to attend, we\u2019ve let you know the audience knowledge level the speaker is expecting and any prerequisites the speaker suggests. But the levels are only guides\u2014and the prerequisites are recommendations, not requirements.\u00a0So, if a session interests you, feel free to attend it even if it doesn&#8217;t seem to be at the right level. Just be aware that some parts of it may not suit you.<\/p>\n<h3>Thursday, May 1<\/h3>\n<p>WordCamp Ottawa 2014 opens with an optional three-hour Pre-camp Introduction to WordPress. This takes place on the Thursday evening before the main camp.<\/p>\n<h3>Saturday, May 3<\/h3>\n<p>We\u2019re planning 32 sessions, each lasting 45 minutes for Saturday. The sessions will be divided in tracks suited for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Content Creators,<\/strong> who want to learn how to publish content on a WordPress site<\/li>\n<li><strong>Site Creators,<\/strong> who want to learn more complex tasks but aren\u2019t designers or developers<\/li>\n<li><strong>Code Creators,<\/strong> designers or developers who want to learn about topics such as site set-up, theme design, plugin development, development best practices and more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Sunday, May 4<\/h3>\n<p>For Sunday we\u2019re planning a half-day of eight in-depth sessions and panels, each lasting 1-hour-and-45-minutes.
