I love that WordPress has such a wonderful and sharing community. I love that WordPress is so flexible and adaptable that I can snazz it up to be just about anything.<\/p>\n<p>2) Why did you decide to speak at WordCamp Ottawa?<br \/>\nI love being part of the WordPress community and speaking at WordCamp Ottawa not only lets me give back, but I get a chance to drive across the province and spend some time in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>3) What is the one thing you want people to walk away with from your talk?<br \/>\nI want people to walk away feeling that child themes aren&#8217;t nearly as scary as they sound and more confident that they can take control of their own sites.<\/p>\n<p>4) What is your favourite WordPress plugin or theme? Why?<br \/>\nI love _S (Underscores). It&#8217;s a great jumping off point for all theme development &#8211; I used it to create my own base theme &#8211; and it&#8217;s got just enough documentation that it&#8217;s a great teaching tool.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Laurie M.
